What does your ministry involve?
I am privileged to be able to lead both the Education and Administrative Ministries of the church. My primary ministry focus is with our adults in Sunday School and Discipleship

What is your passion / goal for your ministry?
My passion is to help others to take Jesus words in John 14:6 to heart. I want them to understand the WAY to have a relationship with Him; to know the TRUTH about Jesus and themselves; and to successfully live a LIFE devoted to Him.

How long have you been involved here?
I joined the staff as the Associate Pastor in September of 2010.

What attracted you to JFBC?
If in real estate it is location, location, location at JFBC it is people, people, people. We fell in love with the people we meet when we first came to the church. Secondly, the church staff is awesome; I could not hope to find better friends, colleagues, and partners in ministry than this group of people. And, third was the potential I saw in the church and area. It is exciting to think about the wonderful collage God is putting together for the future of this great church.

Tell us a little about your family.
My wife, Anne and I have been married for 30 years. We both moved around a lot as kids but met and married at a church in Chattanooga Tennessee. Anne is involved in the Women’s and Children’s ministry here at First. We have two grown children: Laura with husband Joe and son Joseph live in South Carolina where they serve on church staff. Our son Josh, a Christian business man, is married to Elizabeth.  They have Jakson, our second grandson, and live in Georgia.

What is your preparation and background for ministry?
I have served as a pastor of education and administration for almost 25 years. I attended Union University for the first two years of college and completed my degree at UT Chattanooga in Sociology with a minor in philosophy. From there I went on to receive the Master of Arts in Religious Education from Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary.

What do you enjoy doing outside of church?
I enjoy spending time with our family, doing “home” work around the house and yard with Anne, watching movies, playing golf and I am beginning a 1950 Oldsmobile custom project.
